Virginia Beach, VA– The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts is celebrating the holiday season with a festive line-up of events including performances by Tidewater Winds, Virginia Beach Chorale, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Virginia International, Virginia Arts Festival and Symphonicity.

“Every year we are delighted by the wonderful holiday programming our resident groups bring to the theatre,” states David Semon, General Manager for the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts. “From timeless classics such as Ballet Virginia International’s annual performance of “The Nutcracker” to Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday POPS!, we have everything to help get Hampton Roads in the holiday spirit.”

Programming kicked off this Monday with Tidewater Winds’ performance “Make the Season Bright”. Hampton Roads oldest community choir, Virginia Beach Chorale performs warm and cheerful tunes for “The Star and the Sleigh: The Two Sides of Christmas” Saturday, December 9. Wrapping up the week is a double performance by Virginia Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, December 10 at 3pm with “Jingle Bell Jam” part of their PB&J Series, and concluding with “Holiday POPS!” at 7pm.

Returning this year is family favorite “The Nutcracker” with four performances December 15-17. Ballet Virginia International’s annual performance of “The Nutcracker” has become a tradition for families in Hampton Roads to attend year after year.

Closing out Sandler Center’s holiday programming is a performance by Vienna Boys Choir presented by Virginia Arts Festival on December 21. The Vienna Boys Choir’s “Christmas in Vienna” captures the joy and the wonder of the season through this internationally acclaimed choir. We end the season with a free concert, the 35th Annual Handel’s Messiah, performed by Symphonicity on December 23.
