The Central Business District Association announced the annual Last Night on the Town headline act! Ring in 2018 at “Last Night on the Town” New Year’s Eve celebration hosted by the Central Business District Association in partnership with the City of Virginia Beach. The annual event will commence with free, family-friendly entertainment at Pembroke Mall and continue throughout the night with street performers and live music at Town Center of Virginia Beach, headlined by one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last three decades, 10,000 Maniacs!

“We are very pleased to announce 10,000 Maniacs as our “Headliner Band” to ring in 2018”, Tony Nero, Last Night on the Town Chairman said. “This partnership with the City of Virginia Beach and its FREE AND FAMILY FRIENDLY event continues to grow and is enjoyed each New Year’s Eve by thousands of our residents and guests alike”, Nero said.

10,000 Maniacs not only defined college rock, but has also been credited for creating the first wave of alternative rock bands, a now very popular FM radio format. Attendees will enjoy powerful, danceable original hits like “These are the Days,” “Candy Everybody Wants,” from their album Our Time in Eden, which sold more than three million copies. More hit iconic songs will be heard from their album Blind Man’s Zoo, which went platinum with hit singles like “Trouble Me,” and “Eat for Two.” The countdown to midnight will include a spectacular laser light show, fireworks, and Virginia Beach Ball drop. Special VIP Tickets will also be available for purchase, along with beer and wine tickets.
