Come by the Clark Nexsen Tower lobby (4525 Main Street in Town Center) to see the next generation of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame come to life tonight, February 5 at 5:00 PM. Admission is free.

With city and business leaders, local sports stars and others in attendance, the Hall will kick off “Walk the Hall,” a free pedestrian tour of several exhibits throughout Town Center that tell the story of the state’s rich sports history. “We will have our ‘Hall of Honor’ in Clark-Nexsen, bearing the names of our more than 300 inductees,” says Eddie Webb, President of the HOF. “Then you walk across the street to Columbus One and Two to see exhibits promoting Virginia’s greatest golfers and coaches, next over to the Armada Hoffler Tower for college champions, over to 249 Central Park Avenue for Virginians in national Halls of Fame and finally to the Westin Hotel for a photography exhibit called ‘The Year in Sports in Virginia’, that we are compiling with the Virginia News Photographers Association.’”

Display contents will change as ‘Walk the Hall’ evolves, but the first iteration will be richly educational for young and old. “Bring your cell phone because there will be a QR Code on each display featuring a video welcome from one of our past inductees,” says Webb. “Besides the new technology, we have invested in some gorgeous cases to show off our stars. February 5 will be a wonderful night to remember in the 52-year history of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.”
