While Spring is just around the corner, we can’t help but ignore the chilly temperatures still hanging around Hampton Roads. With some help from local influencer, Maria Luke (Millennial Fashionista), we’re serving up some beautiful Winter-to-Spring transitional pieces that you’ll definitely want to add to your wardrobe and home from Anthropologie & Free People. Those interested in Spring beauty trends, we’ve included some must-haves from Bluemercury, too!

HOME

TREND 1: LIGHTEN & BRIGHTEN

“Add bright colors to your home with throw pillows and blankets. This is an easy way to liven up your space and get ready for spring!” – Maria

Town Center’s Anthropologie has already stocked up on the season’s newest home accessories. While color is a quintessential way to make your living space reflect the coming season – don’t be afraid to mix in some different textures, too! Try Anthropologie’s Adelina Slub Velvet Pillow for a luxurious, clean look or the All Roads Yucca Pillow for more of a beachy, boho vibe.

TREND 2: USE SCENTS OF THE SEASON

“Candles are a great way to bring the scents of Spring into your home. I change my candles each season!” – Maria

One of Maria’s favorite Anthropologie candles is the Capri Blue Confetti Glass Candle in the Coastal scent. It has notes of pineapple, verbena and coconut, accented by sparkling lemon, bergamot, and grapefruit. Not only does it bring a spring-ready scent throughout your space but the confetti-inspired vessel and bright blue hue bring an added layer of brightness, too.

Don’t be afraid to bring bright colors into your home in less conventional ways. Maria snagged the Garden Party Monogram Mug from Anthro during her visit. This charming mug features vibrant floral blooms and a gilded monogram M – making it the perfect Spring addition to your morning coffee or tea routine.

FASHION

TREND 1: STOCK UP ON FUN FLORALS

“Florals are always a great way to incorporate Spring into your wardrobe.” – Maria

Maria was automatically drawn to Free People’s Hello & Goodbye Mesh Midi Dress. Not only was it incredibly comfortable (and perfect for moms-to-be) but the subtle floral print and earthy red hues made it ideal for this seasonal transition period. She styled it with the Porto Woven Hat for the perfect daytime look. Keeping the boho-chic comfort vibe going, Maria loved the Begonia Baloon Pants in Washed Black. The neutral colors in this fun pattern make it easy to pair with a lightweight knit or a classic tank for warmer temps.

TREND 2: KEEP IT COZY WITH COLORFUL LAYERS

“Colorful, light layers will keep you warm on these chillier Spring days.” – Maria

Free People is overflowing with light knits and laidback layers awash with classic Spring colors that are perfect for transitioning from Winter to Spring. Be sure to stop in the Town Center location to check out the new March collection.

BEAUTY

TREND 1: GET THAT HEALTHY GLOW

“Spring means more dresses! What better way to show off those legs than with a beautiful, healthy glow from a self-tanner.” – Maria

Maria’s personal favorite is the St. Tropez bronzing mousse. This self-tanner is a best seller at Bluemercury and delivers a natural-looking, streak-free tan that dries instantly with no orange tinge or sticky residue. (Left photo via @sttropeztan)

TREND 2: ADD VITAMIN C TO YOUR ROUTINE

“Vitamin C serums boost collagen, firmness, and brightness – your skin will be Spring and Summer ready by incorporating Vitamin C into your skincare routine.” – Maria

Bluemercury has an endless amount of Vitamin C goodies under their M61 line. This advanced 20% stabilized vitamin C cream helps to support naturally-recurring collagen production, promote a more even skin tone, diminish the look of dark spots and helps to protect against environmental stressors for an ultra-hydrated glow. Instead of the cream, you could opt for the Serum Pad, Moisturizer or the concentrated serum dropper. Stop in the store and ask an associate for expert advice to help you select the perfect addition to your springtime skincare routine.
